Event Details

Please join us at the Gunnison Library on Thursday, May 23 at 6pm with the Colorado Sun’s Sandra Fish, Gunnison Country Times’ Bella Biondini & Alan Wartes, Crested Butte News’ Mark Reaman, and KBUT Community Radio’s Kate Gienapp in a panel discussion on the critical connection between journalism and democracy. Western Colorado University’s Toni Todd will engage the panel in a discussion highlighting each panelist’s approach to covering the news and candidates in an election year.

Sandra Fish will also be available for a Voter Voices lunchtime conversation between 12pm and 2pm – sandwiches will be served! Voter Voices 2024 is bringing together newsrooms across the state — including The Colorado Sun — to ask readers what your priorities are for the upcoming election. Sandra has covered government and politics in Iowa, Florida, New Mexico and Colorado. She was a full-time journalism instructor at the University of Colorado for eight years, and her work has appeared on CPR, KUNC, The Washington Post, Roll Call and other outlets.
