Coffee with the Community: Gunnison Valley Observatory

Enjoy a free cup of coffee with the Gunnison Valley Observatory. Join Volunteers Rob Brown and local Astronomer Dr. Suzanne Taylor on Thursday August 3th from 8:30am-10am. Community members are encouraged to drop by the library to learn more about the great local and astronomical events that are happening in August. Learn how to check out a telescope from the Library, hear about the Solar Eclipse and pick up a pair of NASA approved solar eclipse viewing glasses! The Gunnison Valley Observatory is located west of Gunnison and offers astronomy presentations and outdoor viewing of the night sky through its 30” telescope and smaller scopes. The observatory is open every Friday and Saturday night through the 2nd week in September. Gates to the grounds will open at sunset with formal programs beginning at dusk.

Coffee with the Community is a monthly program which gives the public and local leaders an opportunity to discuss community issues, learn more about local organizations and government, and most importantly build relationships.
