Event Details

Sarah Coleman, a Crested Butte attorney, will be teaching a four-part class on American government and civics at the Crested Butte Library on four Wednesday nights in January 3, 10, 17, 31. The classes begin at 6 PM at the Crested Butte Library. You can attend one, some, or all of the classes, and you’ll get a FREE pocket copy of the Constitution.

This four-part class covers the relationship between the federal and state governments (federalism), the relationship between the branches of the government (the roles, powers, and limitations of Congress, the judicial branch, and the President and administrative agencies), and the interaction between the government and individuals (procedural due process, fundamental rights, and equal protection). The goal for the course is for you understand your government on a deeper level and to engage with your government with greater confidence.

We will serve beer and wine, so there is really no excuse for you not to attend!
